can also be used in combination with different payment systems such as
i.e. coin operating systems and Smart Cards. Why
does a public The main purpose of SiteKiosk is to protect the operating system from customers. The customer will not be able to access the file structure which is covered by the browser window. This minimizes personnel costs and guarantees high availability. A
further advantage of SiteKiosk is the number of features which make your
internet terminal much more user-friendly. SiteKiosk enables you to
i.e. start your computer automatically in the morning and shut it down at
the end of the day as well. SiteKiosk
also allows you to save on telephone costs as well since it
connects and disconnects automatically.
Another
important feature is the limitation of the websites that can be
viewed. This enables you to i.e. limit the customer to viewing your
website not your competitor’s website. Many public terminal providers are not aware that it is punishable by law to provide third parties with certain internet content. That is where the SiteCoach [Plug-In] comes into play. SiteCoach blocks access to pornographic or other harmful internet content. (Please

in
order to get a better picture of how effective and complete the safety
functions are. A comparison with a regular Internet Explorer and
competitors’ products clearly demonstrates the superiority of SiteKiosk.)

SiteCoach
[Plug-In] SiteCoach
is a filter which blocks inappropriate internet content. The filter is not
only based on URLs but on the website’s content as well. The
filter lists are updated automatically. The
user will then be informed on the reason why a certain website could not
be displayed. SiteCoach has a black and white URL List, but also parses
content if the page are not classified in the lists. Parsing is done in
real-time and therefore very fast! The
criteria database (filter list) will be updated automatically when
starting SiteKiosk. This ensures that the list is always up-to-date. As
shown above you can also manually update the criteria database. SiteDog
[Plug-In] In
order to provide an even higher level of security we also offer SiteDog, a
watchdog card, which protects the system in any case. The
SiteKiosk basic version already includes a software watchdog which
automatically restarts the browser in case that a program crashes. There
are, however, situations in which a software watchdog cannot help. That is
i.e. a complete system crash (blue screen). In
that case, the only solution is a restart of the computer. Since you might
not be there to reset the computer by hand, the watchdog card will do it
for you. A
watchdog card is a hardware device which is connected to the reset button
of the computer. As soon as SiteKiosk or the operating system stops
sending the according signal to the card, the computer will be restarted
automatically. The SiteKiosk Autostart technology makes sure that the user
cannot manipulate the computer during the start up process. Technical
